After completing his secondary education, while he was not yet Grand Duke, Prince Guillaume underwent military training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in Great Britain. He was commissioned as an officer in 2002.
Grand Duke Guillaume is the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and holds the rank of General.
You've probably seen photos of the Grand Duke in the khaki uniform of the Luxembourg army. For example, on National Day, when he attends the military parade. At gala dinners, he wears a black ceremonial uniform and carries a sabre.
