Prince François was born on 27 March 2023 at the Maternité Grande-Duchesse Charlotte in Luxembourg. He is the second child of the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess, making him second in line to the throne, after his brother Charles. His godfather is Count Christian, Stéphanie's brother, and his godmother is Princess Alexandra, Guillaume's sister.
